US Debt is slowly getting out of control Nobody wants to give an inch. I propose a “10-5″ plan. 10% reduction in spending while increasing taxes by 5%. The difference would then be applied to lowering debts. Alexander Hamilton paid down America debts once already, he made the United States attractive to foreign investors. European investment capital poured into the new nation in large amounts.

Drastic cuts would in my opinion shock the economy back into a recession. Drastic spikes in taxes would also do the same.

The problem that I see is that a Presidents terms ends way sooner then the solution to the debt problem. Every party always gives you an “image” on how they will treat you better.

The rules need to be written as a way that guarantees to prosperity to this country before changes can be made.

By lowering debts, our interest payment will also go down, allowing us to choose where we apply that new money.

I will be passing out flyers that say something like the following:

Libertarian
The OTHER Conservative Choice

Candidates running on the Libertarian Ticket are running on the following platform:

1 Personal Liberty
Individuals should be free to make choices for themselves and to accept responsibility for the consequences of the choices they make. No individual, group, or government may initiate force against any other individual, group, or government. Our support of an individual’s right to make choices in life does not mean that we necessarily approve or disapprove of those choices.

1.1 Expression and Communication
We support full freedom of expression and oppose government censorship, regulation or control of communications media and technology. We favor the freedom to engage in or abstain from any religious activities that do not violate the rights of others. We oppose government actions which either aid or attack any religion.

2 Personal Privacy
Libertarians support the rights recognized by the Fourth Amendment to be secure in our persons,
homes, and property. Protection from unreasonable search and seizure should include records held
by third parties, such as email, medical, and library records. Only actions that infringe on the rights
of others can properly be termed crimes. We favor the repeal of all laws creating “crimes” without
victims, such as the use of drugs for medicinal or recreational purposes.

3 Personal Relationships
Sexual orientation, preference, gender, or gender identity should have no impact on the
government’s treatment of individuals, such as in current marriage, child custody, adoption,
immigration or military service laws. Government does not have the authority to define, license or
restrict personal relationships. Consenting adults should be free to choose their own sexual practices
and personal relationships.

4 Crime and Justice
Government exists to protect the rights of every individual including life, liberty and property. Criminal laws should be limited to violation of the rights of others through force or fraud, or deliberate actions that place others involuntarily at significant risk of harm. Individuals retain the right to voluntarily assume risk of harm to themselves. We support restitution of the victim to the fullest degree possible at the expense of the criminal or the negligent wrongdoer. We oppose reduction of constitutional safeguards of the rights of the criminally accused. The rights of due process, a speedy trial, legal counsel, trial by jury, and the legal presumption of innocence until proven guilty, must not be denied. We assert the common-law right of juries to judge not only the facts but also the justice of the law.

6 Economic Liberty
Libertarians want all members of society to have abundant opportunities to achieve economic
success. A free and competitive market allocates resources in the most efficient manner. Each
person has the right to offer goods and services to others on the free market. The only proper role of
government in the economic realm is to protect property rights, adjudicate disputes, and provide a
legal framework in which voluntary trade is protected. All efforts by government to redistribute
wealth, or to control or manage trade, are improper in a free society.

10 Government Finance and Spending
All persons are entitled to keep the fruits of their labor. We call for the repeal of the income tax, the abolishment of the Internal Revenue Service and all federal programs and services not required under the U.S. Constitution. We oppose any legal requirements forcing employers to serve as tax collectors. Government should not incur debt, which burdens future generations without their consent. We support the passage of a “Balanced Budget Amendment” to the U.S. Constitution, provided that the budget is balanced exclusively by cutting expenditures, and not by raising taxes.

15 Health Care
We favor restoring and reviving a free market health care system. We recognize the freedom of
individuals to determine the level of health insurance they want, the level of health care they want,
the care providers they want, the medicines and treatments they will use and all other aspects of
their medical care, including end-of-life decisions. People should be free to purchase health
insurance across state lines.

The libertarian, or “classical liberal,” perspective is that individual well-being, prosperity, and social harmony are fostered by “as much liberty as possible” and “as little government as necessary.”

If you are not a focus person with a large attention span you will not answer this question. You probably already saying “get to the point”. A while back I had a job as a tax professional working with my father who was a CPA. I was always excited when I could find some deduction for some people who needed. I used to tell my father that we could use the same loopholes and deductions but he said to me “taxes always return to us, in services for those who need it and infrastructure, and we are not going to starve without it, so if we pay a little more it does not matter our conscience will let us sleep the sleep of the just’. I find that those words were true of everybody I met. Now, I am so ashamed to be in this world, although I still think the same way and act the same way thanks to my upbringing I notice that most have traded their God given conscience for the principles of “debt reduction, fiscal n, credit ratings, financial success and identity theft.” The poor and the less fortunate is not thought of by anyone especially for those who are in the position to do so. I do not know how many people are here in YA that have an income over 250 thousands per year but If I was one of those I would say I would not starve without it. I wish the tax cuts end even for us because we would not starve without it. I wish the tax cut was only for those families who earn less than 50 thousand dollars per year. This tax cuts have been in place for more than 5 years and jobs were not created because of them. I do not know how the upper 10% of the population sleeps without a little bother of their conscience. Did their parents think the same way. Did they have different values than these country use to have? Any thoughts, please I encourage long answers my attention span is large.

I say to get rid of credit rating agencies, and employment agencies or staffing companies that allow companies to keep you hanging, I would bring back unions, get rid of bank fees to people who cannot afford them, get rid of the right of companies to move over seas.

Chloe asked:

My mother and father have been divorced for about 8 years now. My brother and I are 19 and 22 respectively. The divorce happened the year before my father retired and was therefore based upon the income he made while he was working. He didn’t mind this because he wanted my brother and I to live (with our mother) as comfortably as possible. However, two years ago my mother kicked me out of the house, so I went to live with my father, who then stopped having to pay child support for me.

When my brother turned 18, social security stopped paying family benefits for him so my dad has been paying for him completely out of pocket. Because of this (and other factors) my father is drowning in debt, since the child support amount was agreed upon, my fathers income has dropped from @85k to 40k a year, while my mothers’ has risen from 36k to at least 49k (49k was the money she made in 2008, before child support). My dad pays 750 a month for my brother, which is a third of his income, and he also has me living with him on summers and long holidays when I’m not in away at college.

My mother is (to put it kindly) a shady lady. I never saw a dime of child support when I lived with her, while she’s treated herself to a second car (a convertible), two big screen TVs, and many other extravagances. She also tricked me into taking out loans for college, even though the divorce decree stated that once a child enters college all of the CS money will go towards room, board, books, and other school expenses, she had more than enough money for this from the child support alone.

She’s also worked hard to poison my younger brother’s mind against my father, the kid dropped out of college after 10 weeks and is covered in obscene tattoos a few of which my mother actually paid for (I have no problem with tattoos as a form of self expression, but to irreversibly brand yourself on a whim on your 18th birthday is moronic). Anyway, the kid only comes over to bum money off my dad, and believes that he’s a deadbeat because he’s not giving my mom child support for me, despite the fact that I don’t even speak to her.

Taking all of these factors into account, would my dad have a valid claim on a child support reduction for my brother? My mom is a nasty piece of work and will battle tooth and nail to take everything my father has, and she’s going to make sure it’s as difficult as possible for my father so he’ll need a strong case against her.

Thanks!

I received an advertisement from an attorney a few months ago who claims he could lower my property taxes. He made it clear he charges a percentage of the reduction. I agreed. Now I get a bill from him charging me more then he saved me in the taxes.

It turns out that he has done this to many people, and two months ago was disbarred. I contacted the State Grievance committee for advice and they informed me that they have no jurisdiction on a disbarred attorney.

Can this guy come after me? I am very confident that I will not have to pay this ridiculous bill, but he did save me in my taxes so I wonder if I would have to pay a portion of it. I am concerned because the property is owned by an estate and it will be resolved soon, once it is I could be held personally responsible for any outstanding debts. This guy is a jerk and it turns out all he did was file a few papers that I could have done, I don’t want to give him anything because he is a crook but I don’t want to later on get stuck with a bill the estate should have paid.

2-3 years ago I got a cat from the local pound and everything was fine until I moved into an apartment complex. I’m assuming it got into a brawl with another cat and it had a scab but my brother’s ex got very emotional and convinced me to take it to the vet because it could’ve gotten cat leukemia (Just for a diagnosis, mind you we were just going to put the cat to sleep if push came to shove). We get there and she tells me that she does not want to pay for it right now because she owed some kind of insignificant amount of money to the vets and that I should be the main signer for the bill supposedly they look at her funny too or some b/s. So unwittingly I signed a document for a credit company because I did not have a credit in the first place and maybe a waiver that I did not thoroughly inspect because, after all, it was just a diagnosis 40 dollars out and back into my finances again. We 3 took the same car and they were going to keep the cat at the office. It turns out my brother had an interview for a job and we 3 had several errands we needed to so we figured the cat will just stay put and no real apparent danger was going to happen to it anyways.

Well over the course of several hours I noticed I had recieved a call from the vet’s office and the voicemail said they needed to let us know they were going to do an operation on the cat so they’ll keep it overnight. I was going to call the vet office and tell them that wasn’t necessary but alas! They were already closed.

I spent all night freaking out about how much this bill was going to cost because for God’s sake I could barely afford gas with the job I had. I knew something was very wrong about this from the get go starting with her cries for mine’s & my brother’s empathy and pity.

The next day we call them and it turns out that they did some kind of surgery, neutered it, and de flead and de-wormed it. The total cost was over SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS! But since they neutered it, it went down to 500 STILL ASININE. I was there for just a diagnosis. They did not receive my permission because I had absolutely NO INTENTIONS on spending that ridiculous amount of money. They just did everything without my permission. I don’t even have the damn cat anymore SHE has it. Now since the recession is among us I’ve been out of work for 2 years now and the interest hemorrhaged the money up to TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!

I was wondering I need some kind of third party advice before I can go to the courts or perhaps get some kind of justice to this insanely asinine situation.

My question to you: Is there anyway possible to get some kind of amnesty or some kind of massive amounts of reduction done to this? I refuse to pay more than the 40 dollars I was there and gave my permission for them to do the diagnostics.

Can I go to court? Can I just refuse the payment? Can I get some kind of justice??

Thank you for any kind of help

tl;dr – I got severely eff’ed over by the vet’s office because they did NON AUTHORIZED work on a cat that I used to own now I’m spiraling in debt and bad credit.
I think whitefan and LegallyDrunk have both good points. The reason I’ve waited so long is because I have been dirt poor and have assumed I have no case. Two things I find wrong with this a.) they could’ve held on at least a day before they started work for my permission and b.) there is something terribly wrong just in general… I feel like I’ve been robbed.
Actually what I signed was the new Credit card company’s membership

Since my son was born my husband and I have had difficulty keeping up with bills. I am currently unemployed due to personal health and I am going on 1 1/2 years of being able to work without finding a job even though I have been searching actively (I refuse to return to my previous employer because the environment contributed to my health issue, though it cannot be proven in a way that provides workman’s comp).

My husband has a solid job that earns just enough for us to pay our current bills. We do not have spare money for any extras (eating out, movies, etc.). There have been a few unexpected bills and have had to pull from his 401k to cover rent twice within the last 5 months in order to make ends meet.

One debt collection company has taken us to court knowing that we can barely make ends meet (I have been open and honest with them about everything). They took us to court, won the judgment, and have begun garnishing my husband’s wages at 25%. At this point, we will not be able to afford the next month’s rent, let alone groceries or even pay our electric bill (which is past due).

I do not have the ability to borrow money from anyone. The people I know who would be -willing- are incapable due to their own financial obligations.

I know that in some cases those below the poverty level can have wage garnishments adjusted to a lower amount, or removed altogether. My question is: how do I do this in the state of Montana? What forms will I need and which court will I need to go to in order to do so? At this point with the reduction I won’t be able to afford the next month’s rent without pulling from the 401k again and I don’t want to do that at all.
