As of this morning, Sunday March 21, 2010, the Democratic Party is working, passionately, to pass National Healthcare Reform, to provide coverage to un-insured, and un-employed, Americans. To my understanding, this would occur by having insurance companies being “mandated” / “ordered” to cover anyone who applies, and to cover all persons, at rates the person could afford, not at the current skyrocketting rates, which people are seeing, now. Why is this “wrong” for America? By direct contrast, the Republican Party continues its very long-standing motto, of “Tax Cuts are the answer to EVERYTHING. Give the public tax rebates, on things, like healthcare coverage, and the public will love this. What I have NOT heard the Republicans answer to is how the un-employed, this is, people who no-longer have jobs, and have NO income, are supposed to “find” the money, for policies. As I understand it, in order for a person to reeive “tax-relief”, they must, FIRST, go out, and pay FULL price, for a product. They, then, take the receipt, and file it with their tax return. The government then reduces the persons tax liability, by how much they PAID OUT, for their policy. This sounds great, for those who have jobs, and whose jobs pay high enough wages, for the person to afford to pay full price, then apply for tax relief. But what about the UN-employed? What about the “working poor”. What about the people who, in order to have shelter, they must live in low-income housing? What about the people who rely on FoodStamps, Link, STEM, or whatever your states title, for food assistance programs is? How does tax relief help the un-employed / under-employed? How can a person be expected to go out, and pay full price, for health insurance, when they cannot afford to pay full price, for housing, food, or transportation? As for Medicaid, atleast in Illinois, I wonder if readers know that the states public aid director works as hard as possible, everyday, to force more and more people OFF of Medicaid? I wonder if readers know how many sick people that programs, like Illinois’, just smiles at as the public aid agency says “You CANNOT have this desease since you dont “fit” into our definition. Your medical history cannot matter. All that can matter, is our guidelines”. When these people cannot find work, because employers do not want to be legally liable, for covering people with diagnosed diseases, How are these people supposed to find the money, to pay full price, under the Republicans, for health insurance? Is the Democratic plan “perfect”? No But, what is the alternative? How do we tell un-employed people: “You have a choice to make: You can either FIND the money, “someplace”, to pay full price, for coverage, or stop griping, about being in poor health” How would this help people, like myself, who lost careers, after being diagnosed with diseases, which will, never, go away? Thats right! **I** am one of those who lost a job, and income, due to disease, AND the fact that my medications usage now list me as a drug user. I will never be drug free, again, and employers will not hire, unless a person is drug free. Anyone visiting Springfield Illinois can see the signs, in business windows: “If you use drugs, for ANY reason, dont bother applying here”. How can Republican healthcare reform work for me, when I have NO income, to pay full price, for coverage, then use the receipt to get a tax reduction? If I am not working, what tax debt is there, to reduce? How can the Republican plan help me? If my state refuses me access to medications, how can I become a member of the work-force, so that I can have a paycheck, to pay for insurance with? I hope that all answers will be framed based upon the substance of HOW the un-employed are to be expected to pay for coverage, if a Republican system is adopted. Remember that several states do NOT offer Medicaid, to working-class people, simply because the person is un-employed.

We are at a loss right now with coming to a decision & feel that we need to ask strangers for their opinion. I am 35 and my hubby is 41. We have a 3 year old daughter (4 in Sept). We tried for 3 years to have a baby and finally did with the help of fertility drug use for 3 months. The drugs cost $50 a month at the time. My boss was not happy about me having a baby at all. He forced me to take leave 1 month before I was due then fired me while on maternity leave. It took me about 6 months to find a job and during that time we lived on credit cards. Right now, we are going through debt settlement because of it. Our credit is not great. We only have a 2 bed room house and probably won’t qualify for a loan to get another home. At the end of Sept, I am having ****** reduction surgery and I couldn’t even try to get pregnant until at least 6 months to a year ofter due to complete healing time, but I wouldn’t be able to ****** feed. My hubby and I have one sibling, and I have always imagined myself having 2 children. I am very happy with our daughter, but when I hear that my friends are having more than 1 children, I am happy for them, but sad for myself. Due to our situation, what do you suggest? Additional Details Our daughter is very active is groups and makes friends very easily. She is in preschool, library group, church group, and dance. We try to get her involved in social activities because of being an only child. There are times, though that it breaks my heart because she comments on having nobody to play with, but even if we do have another, there is going to be 5 + years between them.

of course if a company fails its employees are without a job, however the jobs that are going to be effected the most are 6 figure salaries in these trade companies they don’t have factories that employ 100,000 employees and in this “crisis” so to speak its not real money that is being effected it is 401k’s, i.r.a’s, credit card companies, and debt markets. now lets digest it a little further what are we loosing , well 401k plans are untouchable until 65 anyway and early withdrawal means a 25% lose at time ofwithdrawall, you know the fee for withdrawing your money, i.r.a. is also untouchible untill retirement age and even greater fee’s and penalties for early withdrawl, and credit card companies who purposly target people like students, low income persons and over extended credit holders. these practises are responsible for this “crisis” however this “crisis” is these companies crisis not the american peoples “crisis” and this credit freeze is actually a step in the right direction for fixing the problem. now if you were ok with the bail out package then you probibly have been living outside your means and this will efect you,, how ever if your responsible and pay your bill’s and live within your means like 95 % of us then this will not effect you at all, you will see a reduction in your retirement fund for the next 2 - 3 years but its not physically going to effect you today or tommarow, being that they are retirement funds mostly there will be social security to help off set the loses in your 401k or I.R.A over the next couple of years (at least you will have that cause when the next generation goes to retire there wont be social security). in the presidential speach this morning he has already started conditioning the american public to actcept there is a possibility that the 700 billion doallars wont be fully repaid and that there wont be any gains from this investment (what is that about ) he basically said that he’s encouraging the congress to steal our hard earned money to bail out the corupted business. come on people what stock would you invest in if you were gaurateed not only were you going to loose money but you were going to have to pay more into it just to have nothing. so the bush administration wants our money and if we don’t give it to them then they will shut down our country and send us into financial ruin. I don’t understand what the crisis is for the american public considering the dollar has been the only curency that has gain strength during this time and oil has been dropping almost as fast as it rose wich means the fuel crisis is subsiding and the american dollar is on its way to be king ounce again. i emplore all who agree with me speak out call your congressmen and senators and let them know their jobs are going to be at risk and their cushy life styles will be at risk and investigations into there profolios will be taken under the public microscopes and see if they pass this bill to steal ourhard earned money generated by the people for the people and by all mean under no circumstances are they to pay this money to any corupted business. rememmber these public office employee’s work for us and we can push to im peach any one of them at any time as they show they are not doing what we want them to do. we can fire them it is our constitutional right to demand them to do what we want them to not the other way around. let the bottom fall out and if it effects people world wide why are only americans required to contribute to this 700 billion dollar bail out, the logic is baffaling we are not being asked to save ourselves we are being asked to save the global economy who over the past 5 years been running up oil prices and condemming us at every turn . i wouldn’t agree with anything that hints that not only will i not get my money back but i cant even expect to see any dividend for my investment we are being told that no matter what we are going to give 700 billion dollars away and we just have to actceprt it ” i say no and then back it by HELL NO!” WE NEED TO START IMPEACHMENT PROCCESS NOW . I understand that smaller business’s will be effected by the failings of these preditory lending business’s. i get how in the imiadeate future after they fail there will be panick but that is where we as a responcible people step up and vote on an insentive package where these innocent business;s can barrow from the 700 billion dollars at a more realistic rate under fixed terms so that they are allowed to grow. and because it is a loan that they will be getting and responcible for they will maintain there independence and generate incomes for it’s employees and as this 700 billion dollar insentive plan for these innocent business who fly straight pay there bills and keep the economical wheels greased the long term repairing of our core machine will be revenbue not debt. but if you place 700 billion dollars out into a market that is floating these failing companies then your innocent companies will never see dollar one because it will go to the corupted machine

“Obama in his address today highlighted some of the measures he proposed in his Jan. 27 State of the Union address, including a three-year freeze on spending for some domestic programs and creation of bipartisan commission to draft deficit-reduction recommendations for Congress to consider” I wondering what that meant because I didn’t understand it in terms of Obama

Since 1945, there have been seven presidential terms held by Democrats and nine held by Republicans. During every term held by a Democratic president since this time, that president has reduced the national debt as a percentage of GDP. The Roosevelt/Truman administration made the greatest dent with a 24.3% reduction. By contrast, only three terms held by a Republican president since 1945 showed a reduction in the national debt as a percentage of GDP. Further, Eisenhower made the most significant reduction for Republicans at a 10.8% decline between 1953 and 1957. This is less than half the decline made by the Democrats Roosevelt/Truman. Even further, every single Republican president since 1973 (beginning with Nixon/Ford) has increased the national debt as a percentage of GDP. Let’s summarize: Since 1946, Democratic presidents increased the national debt an average of only 3.2% per year. The Republican presidents increased the national debt by an average of 9.7% per year. Republican presidents out-borrowed and out-spent Democratic presidents by a three-to-one ratio. Putting that in very real terms, for every dollar a Democratic president has raised the national debt in the past 59 years, Republican presidents have raised the debt by $2.99. Reality. What a beautiful choice. Presidents submit budgets, genius.
