that most of it, if we hadn’t gone into Iraq, we’d be dealing with in Afghanistan?

That doesn’t in and of itself justify Iraq but I frequently see some bad accounting with this – I see people who are opposed to the Iraq War suggesting that every penny spent in Iraq would otherwise not be spent, and be available for social programs or deficit / debt reduction.

The sectarian violence is local, but most of the heavy fighting is with foreigners. But most of the heavy fighting is with “Al Qaeda in Iraq” and other foreign groups. Even to the extent the insurgents are local they are armed and funded from foreign sources – jihadists.

Iraq is closer to Syria and Iran than is Afghanistan and the borders are equally porous and it is easier to cross an imaginary line in the sand than a mountain pass with small artillery. But if you’re willing to die for Allah, you’re willing to walk a few hundred more miles. If we’d never gone into Iraq, Afghanistan would simply be a bigger fight.
Pfo yes, given the choice, they went into the country that was easiest to infiltrate – - – and farthest from OBL, which is not a coincidence.

The Debt to the Penny and Who Holds It

http://www.treasurydirect.gov/NP/BPDLogin?application=np

How much has the debt increased since we’ve had a majority of Democrats in Congress? I thought they were going to make our life better when they took office if we gave them a chance. What happened?

The President can’t introduce and vote on bills. He can only endorse or veto them.

The war was already in progress, so look at all of the added expenditures this Democratic Congress has voted on since they’ve been in office.

I guess it’s easy for them to spend someone else’s money. Maybe they need a reduction in salary to the level they have put the majority of US citizens at.

Think it’s time for a change?

With all of the money going to companies and wall street executives, how much would it be if each legal U.S. household got an equal portion of this money instead of them? With criteria like, a certain amount must be spent on investing, debt reduction, and buying a new American made car, I believe the American people would have been a better investment for all of this money than the ones getting it.

I put my main e-mail address into one website (I usually use a junk e-mail address for this) and now I am getting spam after spam trying to get me to sign up for credit cards, debt reduction services and the like. I have followed the unsubscribe link located in each one for over a month but they still keep coming. It seems like they come from a different company each time. I like my e-mail address because it is my first and last name and is simple and easy to remember and irreplacable. Furthermore, these e-mails are going straight to my Blackberry which is the most annoying part of this situation. How do I stop this?

Its not anyones but their own fault for getting themselves into debt. Now I know their are differ situations so let me explain myself correctly:

Now I understand if you had a reduction of income and now ur not able to pay back debt. But why didnt you plan for these situations in the first place. Why did you go and charge what you cannot afford? After all that is one reason us Americans are in so much debt…. living outside our means. IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD, DONT BUY!!!

Now some exceptions are understandable:

Medical reasons, lack of education in order to obtain a good job to survive, using credit for LIVING EXPENESE, and im sure many reasonable explanations.

My point is why do many people with debt complain about their creditors when they new what this debt could do to you. Especially people with fairly great incomes.

Example: A couple is making $9000/month net income. One of them loses their job so now they down to $5000/month, yet they have 35k in unseucred debt. Living a great life with a great mtg, 3 car pmts ( new vehicles) and they still complain and whine about thier debt, their creditors , the economy. That just does not make sense to me. First of all, with this income you shouldnt even hae to use credit cards, why cant people just live within their means and adjust your life style with what you can a

I have been getting calls on my cell phone almost everyday from a company selling multiple things. Through research I’ve found out they are selling satallite tv, vehicle warrenty, and debt reduction. They call my cell using different numbers all the time and when I ask to be removed from the list (you can press 1 to get thru to a representative) they hang up on me. Also, I found out through research it’s nothing but a scam. How do I get them to stop calling? Other people have complained about this and are even on the DO NOT CALL registry but still get called all the time.
